• Sometimes can commit to 2 years and they may provide funding for spouse (case by case basis)
• Typically if you commit to remote tour, you can get first pick at location for following assignment

San Antonio Uniformed Health Services Education Consortium (SAUSHEC)

• San Antonio, Texas
• Joint Army and Air Force base
• Academic attending position (military residency)
• Only Level I Trauma Center in the DOD
• Burn Center
• Highest acuity of all locations
• Also do shifts at Lackland AFB in San Antonio (smaller, community-like ED)
• Can moonlight after one year of being stationed at this location

Travis AFB

• Vacaville, California
• Joint DOD and VA patients
• Second highest acuity of all locations
• Can moonlight immediately

Wright-Patterson AFB

• Dayton, Ohio
• Associated with Wright State University and civilian residency program
