Buffalo offers a clinical environment with diverse pathology, critical illness and the full range of socioeconomic communities. Their residents rotate though a busy trauma center with a mix of penetrating and blunt trauma and one of the best survival rates in the state as well as the busiest stroke program in NYS with a world renowned endovascular program, an efficient and collaborative STEMI program, and a full service pediatric hospital with a Pediatric EM fellowship program. Graduates feel confident in clinical decision making, critical thinking, and procedural skills. Their alumni are all over the US and work in every imaginable type of Emergency Department.

They have fellowships in EMS Medicine and Emergency Ultrasound.  Residents get the full perspective of Emergency Medicine through their academic EDs, their community and rural hospital experiences and EMS/helicopter rotations.

The best and most unique part of UB|EM is their faculty. With 29 faculty members representing 20 different residency training programs, community EM physicians, and an established research-oriented medical school, their residents get a wide variety of opinions, insight, and experience.
