Tratamiento de Primera Línea[1]

  • Metronidazole 500 mg VO Dos veces al día por 7 días O
  • Metronidazole gel 0,75%, un aplicador completo (5 g) intravaginal, Diario por 5 días O
  • Clindamycin crema 2%, un aplicador completo (5 g) intravaginal Durante la noche por 7 días

El metronidazole no causa una reacción tipo disulfiram con el alcohol.[2]


Régimen Alternativo

  • Clindamycin 300 mg VO BID por 7 días O
  • Clindamycin óvulos 100 mg intravaginales qHS por 3 días (no usar si el paciente ha usado condón de látex en las últimas 72 horas)

Otros regímenes han sido estudiados y tienen eficacia variable comparada con placebo pero debido al costo y disponibilidad no representan alternativas fuera de contraindicaciones absolutas a los regímenes preferidos.
