Background

Clinical Features

Evaluation

A gray-scale sonogram shows a dominant follicle with a much smaller, cystic-appearing structure at the periphery of the follicle, the cumulus oophorus (arrow). This is indicative of imminent ovulation.
  • Frequently a diagnosis of exclusion
