Evaluation
1. Evaluate for food insecurity via the Hunger Vital Sign questionnaire [1,2] (Positive if they answer Yes to either or both: “ Within the past 12 months we worried whether our food would run out before we got money to buy more.” “ Within the past 12 months the food we bought just didn’t last and we didn’t have money to get more.”)
Management
1. Food Pharmacy: Refer them to the Harbor Food pharmacy verbally (“Please come to the front of Harbor UCLA at the ED entrance Wednesdays
at 10:00am. One box of fruits and vegetables per person, until supplies run out")
