History

Residency is more than the capstone of your clinical education as a physician — it will be key in determining your strengths and weaknesses as a physician in independent practice. We offer an intensive, comprehensive clinical experience, with our high acuity Level I trauma center at Hartford Hospital (our primary clinical site) receiving more than 100,000 patient visits per year. In order to give our residents a sense of the breadth of the clinical practice Emergency Medicine we provide rotations in a variety of clinical sites including the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, our suburban community site at the University of Connecticut Health Center, and the urban community-based Saint Francis Hospital Emergency Department in the north end of Hartford. Our total clinical complement exceeds 270,000 visits per year helping to ensure that you will be ready for any practice environment you choose upon graduation.
