Baylor College of Medicine
History
Emergency Medicine is a specialty practice that focuses on the treatment of acute and urgent medical conditions. Emergency practitioners treat the full spectrum of patients using skills ranging from those of a general practitioner to specialists.
The Section of Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, established in 2009, plays crucial roles in medical education and research. It also provides compassionate, dignified and state-of-the-art emergency care for residents of Harris County, regardless of insurance coverage, socioeconomic status, native language, literacy or disability.
