Revision as of 02:37, 3 July 2016 by Neil.m.young (talk | contribs) (Text replacement - "fx " to "fracture ")
Background
- Limited to forearm and lower leg long bones
- The diaphysis of the long bone is deformed but the periosteum is preserved
Clinical Features
Differential Diagnosis
Diagnosis
- X-ray findings are subtle (no fracture line)
- Will show abnormal curvature
- Bowing or bending
- Helpful to compare to uninvolved extremity
Treatment
- Ortho consult
- Difficult to reduce (usually requires completion of the fx)
- Proper reduction and realignment is essential
