Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center

History

Training physicians for over 65 years, Kaiser Permanente has Residency Programs in Northern California, Southern California and Hawaii. Our purpose is to provide an organized educational program with guidance and supervision of the resident (includes interns, residents, and fellows), facilitating the resident’s professional and personal development while ensuring safe and appropriate care for patients.

Kaiser Permanente Northern California sponsors residency programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in which physicians in training can develop personal, clinical, and professional competence under the guidance and careful supervision of the faculty and staff. The programs ensure safe, appropriate, and humane care of patients and the progression of resident physician responsibilities consistent with each resident’s demonstrated clinical experience, knowledge and skill.
