Allergic conjunctivitis

Clinical Features

1. Itching, watery discharge
2. Injected and edematous conjunctiva with papillae on inf conjunctival fornix
3. Erythematous, swollen eyelids

Treatment

1. Mild
   1. Avoidance of triggers
   2. Cool compresses x15min QID
2. Moderate
   1. 1. Consider histamine-blocking drops (e.g. olopatadine, pemirolast, or ketotifen)
3. Severe
   1. Ophto referral to decide if pt requires topical steroids

Disposition

• Outpatient ophtho
