Clínica Alemana - Universidad del Desarrollo

Program Description

The Faculty of Medicine Clínica Alemana – Universidad del Desarrollo (CAS-UDD), committed to training specialists of excellence, offers the Medical Specialty Program in Emergency Medicine. This program was created in response to the country's growing needs in the face of the impact of acute and emerging diseases, integrating scientific, technological, and management advances in the healthcare field.

Emergency Medicine in Chile began its formal development in the 1990s and was later consolidated with the strategic recognition of its importance by the Ministry of Health (MINSAL). The specialty encompasses the comprehensive care of critical patients in both pre-hospital and in-hospital settings, including reception, stabilization, transport, and continuity of care.

Since 2011, the CAS-UDD Faculty of Medicine has been training specialists in Emergency Medicine, supported by a teaching team with extensive experience. The program trains its residents in the prevention, diagnosis, clinical management, and administration of urgent situations, while also promoting their involvement in medical emergency systems, teaching activities, and research.

The specialty program has a duration of 3 years.
