University of South Florida/HCA West Florida GME Consortium at Brandon Regional Hospital
History of HCA Healthcare/USF Brandon Regional Hospital
A 3-year community-based EM residency program in Brandon, FL, 15-20 minutes from Downtown Tampa, FL affiliated with HCA-West Florida Division and the University of South Florida. ED volume at BRH is approximately 120,000 visits per year and is an 8 time IBM Watson Top 100 Teaching Hospitals in the United States (https://fortune.com/2020/06/30/100-top-hospitals-2020-ibm-watson-health/). In 2017 BRH expanded its Emergency Department to a total of 76 rooms, including behavioral health and pediatric rooms totaling 45,000 square feet. Founded in 2018, the program is continually growing with 45 residents and new rotations sites including Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and Blake Medical Center for ED and Trauma rotations.
