About

Dr. Chang is currently a pediatric emergency medicine fellow at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and a clinical instructor for the department of emergency medicine at University of Cincinnati. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of California, Davis and worked as a clinical research coordinator for the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) prior to earning her Doctorate of Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS). Dr. Chang completed her emergency medicine residency training at Los Angeles County-Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where she had the privilege of caring for a largely underserved and uninsured patient population. During residency, she received the Emergency Medicine Residents Association (EMRA) Resident of the Year award. She previously served as the chair for EMRA's PEM committee and is currently an active member of the ACEP PEM committee. Dr. Chang was selected for the Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) scholars’ program. She is currently the editor-in-chief for EMRA's PEM Fundamentals and the chair for the national GHHS humanism in practice committee. Dr. Chang is passionate about resident education and improving the care of ill and injured children across the nation by improving the preparedness of all emergency departments through education, research, and advocacy. She is also equally devoted in addressing health disparities and providing equitable care to under-resourced, vulnerable, and marginalized patient populations. During her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, traveling, photography, and cooking. She lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband, Frank, an Associate Professor of Piano at Miami University, and their golden retriever, Theo.
