Abdus Salam Khan is a graduate of Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. He is a Diplomat ABIM with experience in Urgent care clinics. He has been working as a consultant and also has worked as the Director of Emergency Department from 2009 till 2024 at Shifa International Hospitals, Islamabad. He is currently working as a Consultant in the Emergency Department and also as Medical Direcor of Shifa Medical Center G-10. He is the founder Program Director of the Emergency Medicine residency program at Shifa International Hospital. He is also the founder and Ex-President of the Pakistan Society of Emergency Medicine(PSEM). He is Editor in Chief of the South Asian Journal of emergency medicine. He is in the Faculty of Emergency Medicine of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). He is also an examiner of CPSP for the Intermediate module and the FCPS Part II exam in Emergency Medicine.

His interest is in developing emergency medicine in low-resource areas. His special interest is also in helping second victim be back to normal life. He has trained more than 6000 people for basic life support and more than 700 individuals for the advanced cardiac life support.
