Zucker SOM/Northwell at North Shore/LIJ
History
Zucker Emergency Medicine Residency at North Shore/LIJ is the combined residency composed of Long Island Jewish Medical Center (New Hyde Park, NY) and North Shore Hospital (Manhasset, NY) emergency medicine residencies. This combined program is a 3 year curriculum with a heavy emphasis on critical care and EM ultrasonography. It is also the academic affiliate and home of the FDNY-EMS Command Center. Northwell Health is the largest hospital system in New York, and as a result there are a wide variety of patients from all socio-economic classes. The residents have the opportunity to rotate through both major hospitals as well as Cohen Children's Medical Center -- a level 1 pediatric trauma center.
