Abdus Salam Khan is a graduate of Dow Medical College, Karachi Pakistan. He is Diplomat ABIM with experience in Urgent care clinics. He has been working as a consultant and later on as Director of Emergency Department since 2009 at Shifa International Hospitals, Islamabad. He is the founder Program Director of the Emergency Medicine residency program at Shifa International Hospital. He is also the founder and Ex-President of the Pakistan society of emergency medicine. He is Editor in Chief of the South Asian Journal of emergency medicine. He is in the Faculty of Emergency Medicine of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). He is also an examiner of CPSP for the Intermediate module and the FCPS Part II exam in Emergency Medicine.

His interest is in developing emergency medicine in low-resource areas. His special interest is also in helping second victim be back to normal life. He has trained more than 4000 people for the basic life support and more than 700 individuals for the advanced cardiac life support.
