  • Complication of abdominal aortic aneurysm
  • Rare (<1% of all AAAs, ~3% of ruptured AAAs) but life-threatening (mortality ~50%)
  • Caused by inflammation around aorta → adherence of aorta to vein → pressure and erosion into vein → fistula
